The Glee Project -- which Oxygen had originally announced last summer -- will find and train a group of performers who will then compete for a seven-episode guest starring role on Fox's Glee.

The new unscripted series will anchor the network's launch of new Sunday night programming and is being produced by Ryan Murphy Television and Embassy Row with Glee creator Ryan Murphy, Dante Di Loreto, Michael Davies, and Shauna Minoprio serving as executive producers.

Murphy will also participate on-screen and join Glee casting director Robert Ulrich and Glee choreographer and co-producer Zach Woodlee in the final deliberations that determine which performers will advance to the next round of the 10-episode competition.

In addition, Glee star Darren Criss -- who joined the cast as Blaine this past season -- will be a guest mentor to the contestants in the premiere episode.
