Nick Cannon hasn't publicly confirmed that wife Mariah Carey is pregnant, but if she was, he claims she'd make the announcement herself.

"If & when my wife is ready to make ANY announcements about private matters she will do it personally. Thanks for being respectful GodBless," the America's Got Talent host wrote in a Wednesday post to his Twitter account.

"My heart goes out to any woman who has to deal with public scrutiny and speculation pertaining to their private life REAL TALK!"

While a source told Us Weekly in a Thursday report that Carey is "in the early stages of pregnancy" but wants to wait until after the first trimester to announce it, Cannon apparently already let the cat out of the bag late last month.

"Her bump is bigger. You can almost see it now," Cannon was allegedly overheard telling fans in Malibu on May 30, according to Us. "I'm very excited!"

However Cannon reiterated Thursday morning on his radio show that it's his wife's place to reveal the news, not his.

"I'm pretty sure that when my wife is ready to make any announcement it won't be to the media, to the public, first," said Cannon on his WXRK-FM radio show.

"She'll tell her family, she'll tell her friends, and then, you know, when she's ready to share with the rest of the world, who is her extended family and friends, then she'll let everybody know."

Cannon can currently be seen helming America's Got Talent's fifth season, while Carey recently pulled put of Tyler Perry's film For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuff.

"She is not doing the movie because her doctor advised her not to," her representative told Us last week. "More than that, I cannot comment further."
