Nick Cannon has made a bold move to further publicize the fact he's separated from estranged wife Mariah Carey.

The America's Got Talent host, who sported a huge "Mariah" tattoo on his upper back, has covered it up, Us Weekly reported.

Barely any of the old "Mariah" tattoo remains -- except a tiny portion of the cursive "H" on his right shoulder blade -- after Cannon had an image of Jesus' crucifixion imprinted on top of it. Above the cross appears to be an angel or bird-like image with feathers or rays of light showering down.

Cannon reportedly showed off his new ink when he stepped out of a workout in Los Angeles' Studio City shirtless this past weekend.

The new tattoo comes on the heels of Carey, a former American Idol judge, allegedly suggesting Cannon had cheated on her. During one of her concerts in Tokyo, Carey had drastically changed the lyrics to Billie Holiday's song "Don't Explain."

The song's original lyrics are, "And I know you cheat / Right or wrong, don't matter."

However, Carey reportedly altered the lyrics in light of divorce rumors by singing, "I know you cheated, motherf-cker."

Cannon, 33, reportedly left Carey, 44, after six years of marriage. He confirmed there was "trouble in paradise" in late August during an interview with The Insider, when he also revealed he had been living in a separate house from the singer for several months.

The pair wed in April 2008 and have three-year-old twins together named Monroe and Moroccan, who were born in April 2011.
