A contestant on the TV reality show "Nashville Star" has accused producers of manufacturing a controversy that got her booted off the program.

"I'd be feeling a lot better if I was voted off for poor performance," Australian Tamika Tyler told the Nashville Tennessean. "But, I know that's not the case."

"Nashville Star" producers called Tyler's allegations "un-founded." They insisted there was a rift between older and younger contestants, that the show fairly portrayed it and that Tyler, a good singer, just failed to connect with voters.

The show, in its third year, is seen on the USA Network.
