Grammy-winning country singer and former "Nashville Star" host LeAnn Rimes underwent minor surgery in Los Angeles Tuesday for a leg injury suffered during her "This Woman" tour.

Rimes canceled three concerts, including one in Hampton Beach, N.H., and two in Niagara Falls, Ontario, because "a tear in the tissue" of her leg became infected, People magazine reported Tuesday.

"It's a minor surgery, but because of the infection it was urgent that she takes care of it right away," her representative Diana Baron said in a statement.

Rimes is expected to resume her tour with the July 19 concert in Twin Lakes, Wis.
