Married at First Sight star Steve Moy has explained his underwhelming reaction to Noi Phommasak saying she was already falling in love with him only several days into their marriage.

Steve, 38, and Noi, 33, were matched for matrimony on Season 14 of Married at First Sight by the show's experts Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Dr. Viviana Coles, and Pastor Calvin Roberson.

During the February 2 episode of Married at First Sight: Afterparty, Steve watched back a Season 14 clip of Noi opening up to her husband about her feelings during their honeymoon in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

"One of the [producer]'s questions was, 'Do you think you're falling in love with Steve?' And I said that I think it's slowly happening," Noi shares in the footage.

"Okay," Steve awkwardly replies. "Well, that's nice to hear -- I think."

Afterparty host Keshia Knight Pulliam asked Steve if he was "a little freaked out" Noi was falling in love with him only three days after meeting on their wedding day as total strangers.

"So, okay, don't get me wrong -- we were having a great vibe. We have a great energy between us, but we're in Puerto Rico, it doesn't seem like we are in reality," Steve said.

"And I'm just like, 'Okay, I have to reassess this situation, right? Let's just come back to reality here. We have known each other for three days.'"

Steve was joined by MAFS 14 stars Lindsey Georgoulis and Katina Goode on Afterparty and elaborated, "I'm not and I don't know if anyone of you would be comfortable saying, 'I love you,' on Day 3, right? It was a lot."

But Keshia pointed out how Noi was not "in love" but rather "slowly starting to fall in love" with Steve.

"Yup, that's what she said," Steve confirmed, as if the distinction didn't really make a difference to him.

"But [you] just heard, 'I love you,'" Keshia joked.

Steve said although his reaction appeared to disappoint and upset Noi a little bit, his wife seemed to understand where he was coming from.

"I think she probably was even like, 'Maybe I jumped the gun a little bit,'" Steve noted.

Steve, however, said Noi's profession of love "didn't mess up" their energy "too much" on the honeymoon.

"I think it was just a little bit of, 'Oh, that's kind of weird,' but we were good," he acknowledged.

"And I think it actually helped her because she was like, 'Okay, in a way, he is asking for a little bit of space.' So I think because of that, she fell back a little bit and we got back on the right and comfortable [track]."

But Noi wasn't the only Season 14 cast member to express love early on. Lindsey apparently told her husband Mark, "I love you," a few days into the honeymoon -- only hours before he asked her on-camera to slow things down.

Katina also didn't seem to think Noi's big heart was a red flag. She gushed on Afterparty about how Steve and Noi were "so adorable."

"I see the love developing and I know by the end of this, I feel like you guys are going to be good," Katina shared. "I am Team Steve and Noi!"

"Totally!" Lindsey agreed.

Steve also confirmed how it was "nice to hear" that Noi was falling for him, even though the words seemed a little premature in their marriage.

"I think it was nice to... understand how she felt," Steve said.

"I'm glad she's responding. I mean, she didn't look happy when I let her know how I felt, but I'm hoping from here on out now we can get back to that balance place where we are both continuing to progress."

Steve explained how the goal was to "not overwhelm" each other with emotion but also to "not fall away from each other."

While Noi told Steve that she was starting to fall for him on the latest episode, she admitted to the cameras how she never felt so connected to a man before and she was "falling in love in the craziest way."

Steve told Noi in turn that he had "strong feelings" for her, which he thought should be enough for the point they were at in the Married at First Sight journey.

Steve later explained how he didn't want to say those three meaningful words until he could get to know his wife better and truly mean them. Steve joked that on a scale from 1-100, he liked his wife "somewhere between 50 and 100."

Noi said she felt so lucky to have been matched with a man like Steve, and the pair appeared to strengthen their physical and emotional connection in Puerto Rico.
