Married at First Sight star Stephanie Sersen has revealed AJ Vollmoeller's outbursts have actually made her cry.

During a Tuesday night appearance on Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, Stephanie watched back a Season 8 clip in which AJ was shown speaking to show expert, Dr. Jessica Griffin, about how his tantrums never have to do with Stephanie and his frustrations don't "leak into the marriage."

However, Stephanie apparently disagrees, telling host Jamie Otis that AJ's behavior does bother her.

"It does make me upset when I have to sit there and watch [AJ blow up]. If I'm not in the room and he's handling it on his own, then I can brush it off," Stephanie shared.

"But If I have to sit there and watch it and see him get upset, it rubs off on me. Energy is contagious whether it's positive or negative. When the cameras left and after Dr. Jessica left, I was crying to him and he really knows this is serious now."

Stephanie added, "So I need to change how I'm reacting to things because it's starting to affect stuff now. So I think that was his realization moment."

Jamie was surprised to hear Stephanie was so upset given she is always portrayed as happy-go-lucky, understanding and sympathetic on the show, so Jamie asked what exactly made Stephanie cry that day.

"Just because I was so frustrated over everything, and when everything kind of builds up, it just comes out," Stephanie admitted.

Stephanie explained AJ always speaks his mind and tends to blurt out the first thought that comes into his head.

"For me, I will think about it first before I say something," Stephanie said.

Since Stephanie and AJ were only married for about a month at the time of her emotional breakdown, Stephanie confessed she didn't feel like it was her place to stand up to her husband.

"I'm not going to over-speak him, because then it's just going to cause conflict, and I'm not trying to get into a fight," Stephanie told Jamie, adding, "I have no business telling him to shut up."

Stephanie explained new couples need to figure each other out before one person can just set the rules.

"And then when you see healthy, long-lasting marriages, the wife [lays down the law] and the husband [shuts up]. So we're not at that point yet, but maybe in the future we will be. Who knows," she noted with a laugh.

Jamie then joked Stephanie was probably thinking in her mind, "Shut up, AJ," even though she didn't say it out loud.

"Yeah," Stephanie replied with a laugh, hoping one day AJ will be quiet with just the point of her finger.

However, Stephanie assured Jamie that she confronted AJ about his behavior and he took her concerns to heart.

"He plans to think about me -- first. I mean, he always did, but I don't think to the extent that needed to be done, and now he knows everything that he says and does is going to affect me," Stephanie revealed.

"So he's going to try to tone it down a little bit or at least, if he has strong words to say, it's going to be when I'm not around."

AJ's frequent outbursts, however, still left Stephanie worried and concerned about the future of their marriage.

"Absolutely [I was concerned]. You always have to be careful of how people handle stressful situations. It's definitely something that is always going to be in the back of my head that I'll think about going into 'Decision Day' and beyond," Stephanie said.

Stephanie was also joined by her Married at First Sight co-stars Kristine Killingsworth and Will Guess on the Unfiltered special.

When Jamie asked Kristine how she and husband Keith Dewar handle arguments or conflict, Kristine said, "Keith actually annoys me because he doesn't blow up or get mad."

"It's not a bad thing, don't get wrong!" Kristine continued, "But once in a while, it's like, 'Boy, give me a little passion! Show me you're mad! I want to see it!' But he's always so calm."

Kristine laughed about how Keith just brushes off his anger like it's no big deal.

"He's just like, 'Okay,' and I'm like, 'Damnit I can't even argue with you!' you know what I mean? It's not a bad thing. I can't really complain," Kristine revealed.

And Will -- who is married to Jasmine McGriff on the show -- apparently has a similar passive personality to Stephanie and Keith.

"We're pretty much good," Will said of his relationship with Jasmine.

"I'm kind of like the Stephanie where I'm just calm and even-keeled. When we are in disagreements, I'm just trying to fix it, like, I'm talking to try to fix it. So there are no blowups."
