Married at First Sight star Matthew Gwynne admits the fact his new wife Amber Bowles was so short disappointed him when they first met on their wedding day for Season 9 of the Lifetime reality series.

When Amber and Matt stood next to each other at the altar, some of their wedding guests probably couldn't help but chuckle when noticing Matt was nearly two feet taller than his wife. (Amber nearly needed a step stool to kiss Matt when the officiant declared them husband and wife).

On Wednesday night's episode of Married at First Sight: Unfiltered, when host Jamie Otis asked Matt if the couple's height difference threw him for a loop, he simply replied, "Yes."

"I've dated, seriously, like four different girls. One was 5'2" but the others were all six foot and above," Matt revealed. "So I was expecting just a little bit taller!"

Matt then admitted Amber's height was "kind of a disappointment" -- at least "at first."

"But then I was like, 'Okay, don't get caught up on that, Matt. Move past it and figure out and find [whether] something else is there,'" Matt recalled of his thinking in that moment.

However, Matt told Jamie that he came around once he was able to engage Amber in conversation.

"I think once we started talking and she knew basketball and knew players and stuff, I was like, 'Oh man, okay, we've got something in common and we've got chemistry,'" Matt shared.

And there was no doubt Amber felt chemistry with Matt in return and was attracted to her husband.

Amber was very forward about how she thought Matt was "hot" and "cute," and she admittedly never wanted to stop kissing him.

While Matt probably found Amber's advances flattering, he confessed on Unfiltered he didn't really know what to think about Amber's aggressive approach to their relationship initially.

"I think at first it kind of threw me off that she was so forward, but I didn't mind it, because I was like, 'Okay, she's open about that,' and I kind of liked it," Matt explained.

"At first it threw me off because I'm not really a big fan of the PDA, you know, I'm usually very guarded when it comes to that."

Matt concluded, "But I was just like, 'You know what? Just go with the flow. She wants to make out in front of everybody, so we'll make out.'"

In addition to Matt and Amber, Married at First Sight's currently-airing ninth season also stars Gregory Okotie and wife Deonna McNeill, Iris Caldwell and husband Keith Manley, and Elizabeth Bice and husband Jamie Thompson.
