Married at First Sight star Keith Manley is trying to explain his "concern" with Iris' virginity wasn't the fact she's a virgin but rather the lack of sexual maturity she was showing him.

"For me, it's not really about sex as much as it's about sexual maturity, so I think that's what I'm concerned with right now," Keith said during a Wednesday appearance on Married at First Sight: Unfiltered.
The topic was broached after Keith and his Married at First Sight co-star, Elizabeth Bice, watched back a Season 9 clip of Iris' mother telling her to just jump into the sex pool and learn how to swim given her virginity was a growing concern for Keith.
Keith acknowledged on Unfiltered he had hit the jackpot with his mother-in-law, "no question" about it.
He apparently didn't even know that conversation had taken place prior to watching it unfold on a recent episode of the Lifetime reality series.
Keith explained he was glad to see Iris had an outlet to discuss her feelings as well as a loved one willing to share a different point of view on the couple's physical intimacy.
"It makes me happy to know, like, when she has these certain feelings, that she has somebody like her mom in her corner to kind of reason with her and play devil's advocate and think outside of how Iris may feel about it," Keith said.
About one month into the Married at First Sight process, Keith admitted he and Iris were getting ready to test the waters, so to speak.

"I think we're both at that turning point where we're trying to figure out if we're going to dive in or not," Keith shared.
"I think both of us are kind of at the edge of the water trying to figure out who's going to jump in first."

Unfiltered host Jamie Otis then asked Keith how he and Iris are handling that situation and whether they're openly having conversations about it.
"Iris does get a little uncomfortable when we start having conversations about intimacy and things like that, and so it's just something we're having to work through right now," Keith explained.
And of course Elizabeth had some advice for Keith on how he might be able to overcome this hurdle with Iris.
"I mean, I'm a rip the Band-Aid off kind of girl," Elizabeth admitted.
"So honestly, Keith, I totally get where you're coming from and if a virgin dude was presented in front of me, I would wait for him to come to me to initiate that," she continued.
"Even initiating any intimacy where you're like going for oral sex or something, I mean, I could totally see why you're like, 'I don't even know when to make the first move at this point.'"
Iris and Keith definitely turned a corner, however, in the latest Season 9 episode of Married at First Sight.
Iris bought edible paint for Keith to lick off different parts of her body so they could become more intimate and feel comfortable doing so, and the activity appeared to get pretty steamy.

In addition to Keith, Iris and Elizabeth, Married at First Sight's currently airing season also stars Elizabeth's husband Jamie Thompson, Amber Bowles and husband Matthew Gwynne, and Deonna McNeill and husband Gregory Okotie.
