Married at First Sight star Emem Obot has explained why she felt comfortable getting engaged again following her rocky romance -- and breakup -- with Ikechi Ojore on the show.

But Emem apparently wasted no time moving on from Ikechi because she is now engaged to boyfriend Brandon Williams, People reported.

"Love is not a feeling, it's a commitment," Emem told the magazine in a statement.

"The feelings were real and happened with God's timing. We saw a bright future and decided to go for it."

Emem suggested that she and Brandon have a similar background, which allowed their relationship to quickly develop and grow.

"Being from the same neighborhood and understanding one another made our match easier," Emem shared.

"Having met for the first time on a blind date neither one of us could have expected things to blossom into the love we share now. Love at first sight is possible."

Viewers will be able to watch Emem accept Brandon's marriage proposal when a post-"Decision Day" episode of Married at First Sight airs Tuesday, March 4 at 8PM ET/PT on Lifetime.

A preview of Emem's engagement had aired at the end of last week's episode of Married at First Sight.

In the preview, Emem was shown suddenly revealing to her Married at First Sight co-stars Camille and Madison during a cast gathering at a Chicago bar, "So I am engaged!"

Camille appeared shocked and told the cameras, "I'm a little shooketh."

The preview ended with Brandon awkwardly introducing himself to Ikechi, who acted like he didn't care at all about his estranged wife's upcoming marriage.

Ikechi had claimed on Married at First Sight that Emem asked him too many questions and made him feel small. He also alleged that she repeatedly came onto him sexually when he wasn't ready to consummate their marriage.

Emem, for her part, accused Ikechi of being aloof and unexpressive, and she didn't think he put any effort into making their relationship work.

Emem complained that Ikechi would go days without contacting her, and she felt disrespected and embarrassed when Ikechi brought a divorce paper for her to sign at the couples' retreat in front of their new friends.

The only couple who chose to stay married on "Decision Day" was Camille and Thomas.
