Married at First Sight star Dave Flaherty admits he wasn't in love with Amber Martorana at the time of their mini-moon, and Amber's push to be on the same page sparked major tension.

"This is definitely the toughest day of our marriage for sure. It was weird. It was a weird day," Dave told host Jamie Otis on Tuesday night's Married at First Sight: Unfiltered special dubbed Ready As I'll Ever Be.

Dave and Amber escaped to San Antonio, TX, for a little getaway during the latest Married at First Sight episode, but instead of growing closer, the pair got into the worst fight they ever had.

As Amber pressed for Dave to express his feelings for her, he completely shut down and became cold.

"I think my perspective was I was going through this process feeling a certain way and I was committed to the process, but I wasn't in love with Amber. I wasn't there. And I felt like she wasn't okay with me being where I was, and that's what was frustrating for me," Dave admitted.

"And so, when I would respond to these things, I would say, 'I'm not committed to you. I know we're married, but we signed up for this process. I know we're going to have to switch at some point to committing to each other -- and I want to get to that and I'm committed to working towards that -- but I'm not there yet.'"

Dave concluded, "I always felt she wasn't okay with that answer, and that really frustrated me."

Jamie, however, pointed out how Dave was deflecting Amber's simple question of whether he'd want to be with her in that moment if he wasn't forced to travel with her and if they weren't married.

"This day, I was very stubborn," Dave confessed.

Jamie seemed to suggest a simple "yes" from Dave probably would probably have prevented the whole awkward day from happening.

"I didn't want to answer that question because I didn't think it was the right question," Dave explained. "We had a great morning together off-camera, and then we kind of got into an old fight that we've had too many times."

Dave acknowledged, however, his stubborn approach to the conversation made matters worse.

"Yeah," he noted, with a look of embarrassment on his face. "I unfortunately took the stance this day that I didn't care. I had never really gotten into it with her. I always tried to be patient or take a different route, and on this day, I just decided to get in the trenches and get dirty."

"And there are so many things you don't see," Dave continued. "I think I've said it on the show before that I send her flowers, I call her at work, like, I do all this stuff -- and it always comes back to, 'Oh, you don't care about me.' Well, 'Okay.' That was my attitude that day."

Because Amber kept insisting Dave didn't care about her, he decided to respond with something along the lines of, "Okay, so this whole seven weeks has gone to show you that I don't care about you? That's fine."

Dave became visibly upset when rehashing this fight he had with Amber and appeared relieved once Jamie changed the subject.

In addition to Dave and Amber, the other two couples who currently star on Season 7 of Lifetime's Married at First Sight are Danielle Bergman and husband Bobby Dodd as well as Tristan Thompson and wife Mia Bally.
