Married at First Sight's Jaclyn Methuen and Ryan Ranellone have broken fans' hearts because they've decided to divorce and end their relationship for good.

Methuen, a New Jersey vodka sales representative, confirmed the bad news on social media although she and Ranellone were the couple on Married at First Sight's second season most viewers were rooting for.

"I've been single for a while and I have to say, it's going very well," Methuen quoted Emily Heller in a Tuesday Instagram photo. "Like... it's working out. I think I'm the one."

During the show's reunion episode earlier this week, Methuen and the real estate agent from New York revealed things didn't work out between them.

"I would have made any sacrifice to be with you," Methuen had told Ranellone. "I would have compromised. I would have split the time in Jersey and Long Island. I would have done anything to have made this relationship work."

"After the process had ended, obviously it takes effort, and I'm guilty of not making a tremendous effort in trying to make it work," Ranellone had admitted at the reunion's taping, telling Methuen afterwards, "If I could earn your respect back, I'd be a happy man."

Married at First Sight's four experts -- who had matched three couples for the extreme social experiment in which pairs meet at the altar, exchange vows and have six weeks to determine whether they'd like to stay married or get a divorce -- convinced Methuen and Ranellone to go on a dinner date and give their relationship another shot.

While the couple agreed to try again in front of cameras at the reunion, Methuen and Ranellone apparently made no progress.

"There's no dinner date here- except with myself! #Single #StillGotMookie #AnyTakers," Methuen commented on her own Instagram photo of Heller's quote.

On Wednesday, Methuen posted another image featuring herself and her girlfriends catching a large fish on a boat.

"Don't worry ladies, there's plenty of fish in the sea. Let's hope I catch one that is strong, smart, and appreciates my big personality! #WomenSupportingWomen #GrowingNotChanging #MaybeToningDownMyLaugh," she wrote Wednesday on Instagram.

Ranellone has remained pretty quiet on social media in the meantime.

When Methuen saw Ranellone for the first time on their wedding day, she admitted in a confessional she found him unattractive. It took her weeks to open up to Ranellone -- who appeared smitten with Methuen and did everything he could to make her fall for him -- and take him out of the friend zone. She even went as far as to call her groom "dude" and "bro" all the time.

But as Methuen got to know Ranellone better, she found him to be an amazing guy and therefore chose to put her guard down. After they had sex for the first time well into the experiment, Ranellone unfortunately took a couple steps back.

Ranellone thought his wife's personality was overwhelming and dominant, and he was hesitant to move away from home because he's extremely close to his niece and mother. It seemed as if he let the relationship fade due to their long-distance situation and his lack of dedication to Methuen.

The show's second-season experiment ended with all three couples splitting. Ryan De Nino and Jessica Castro are currently on such bad terms that Castro filed a restraining order against him because he had allegedly threatened to kill her and her family. Things are also tense between Davina Kullar and Sean Varricchio, both of whom had choice words for one another.

Earlier this week, Methuen took to Instagram to publicly respond to a news story with the following headline: "Married at First Sight Experts Refuse All Blame For Their Failure."

"This is pretty interesting..." the sales rep captioned an image of the experts toasting one another with glasses of champagne.
