During Thursday night's broadcast on NBC, the following comics advanced from the semi-final round: Rocky LaPorte from Chicago, IL; Lachlan Patterson from Vancouver, B.C., who currently resides in Venice Beach, CA; D.C. Benny from Washington, DC, who currently resides in Brooklyn, NY; Nikki Carr from Bronx, NY; and Rod Man from Villa Rica, GA, who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.

The five comics will join the handful of finalists who were chosen during last week's semi-final round.

Those contestants were: Joe Machi from State College, PA, who currently resides in New York, NY; Monroe Martin from Philadelphia, PA, who currently resides in Brooklyn, NY; Karlous Miller from Oxford, MS, who currently resides in Atlanta, GA; Aida Rodriguez from Miami, FL, who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA; and Jimmy Shubert from Philadelphia, PA, who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.

The Challenge Rounds to come will test the comics in a variety of comedy disciplines ranging from sketch comedy to improv.

On Thursday, June 26 from 10-11PM ET, the 10 finalists will compete in their first group challenge of the season. They will be divided into two teams and given 90 minutes to cast, rehearse and prepare the same sketch comedy script to perform in front of a live audience.

After their performances, guest mentor Cheryl Hines will select the winning team, whose members will be safe from elimination. Three members of the losing team must then battle it out in a stand-up challenge at the Hollywood Improv. Last Comic Standing judges Roseanne Barr, Keenen Ivory Wayans and Russell Peters will determine which comic delivers the best show and which two contestants must be sent home.

Future guest judges will include Howie Mandel, Wanda Sykes and Jeff Ross, who will guide the comics through fun comedy challenges such as a roast and an attempt at tour guide comedy.

The winner of Last Comic Standing's eighth season will receive a prize package worth $250,000, including a cash prize, a talent deal and a development deal for a TV show.
