While the 36-year-old former NBA player speaks a word here or there occasionally, he reportedly seems "empty" at times and has improved very little in recent weeks.
Not only is Odom struggling to communicate, his physical mobility is also impaired.
Odom is being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles from an October 13 drug overdose. He was discovered unconscious in a Nevada brothel after allegedly mixing herbal Viagra, cocaine, and alcohol.
Odom's wife Khloe Kardashian has been at his side while he recovers although she's still dating boyfriend James Harden.
