Kris Jenner has been very quiet since Caitlyn Jenner's photos in Vanity Fair were released -- until now.

"I think it's amazing," Kris, 59, told Extra of Caitlyn's completed transition. "I think that someone following their dream is truly inspirational to a lot of people -- you have to do what makes you happy."

Prior to this statement, Kris was shown dealing with Caitlyn's transformation in the two-part Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce special, which aired in mid-May. A teary-eyed Kris had trouble wrapping her head around the fact her husband of over two decades and the father of some of her children was transgender.

Because Bruce Jenner had every intention of changing into Caitlyn at the time, Kris said it felt like Bruce had died and she needed to mourn him. The pair had a very emotionally-charged discussion during which Kris said she felt like Caitlyn had shut her out a long time ago and all she'd have going forward were memories of them together. Caitlyn assured her that she wasn't going anywhere.

Kris wished Caitlyn had been more truthful with her about everything, and Caitlyn apologized for any hurt this caused their family. Despite saying it was "a struggle" to accept Caitlyn's new life, the special ended with Kris calling her ex-husband a great partner and dad and wishing her happiness.

The last time Kris tweeted about Caitlyn directly was following the infamous 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer on ABC -- when Caitlyn officially came out to the public and shared her personal story with the world. Kris dubbed Caitlyn her "hero" on social media.

Kris and Caitlyn have two children together: Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner. Caitlyn is also the stepfather of Kris' kids with the late Robert Kardashian: Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, and Rob Kardashian. Caitlyn has more children from her previous marriages.

Caitlyn's journey will be explored in full detail when E!'s docu-series I Am Cait premieres July 26 at 8PM ET/PT.
