Khloe Kardashian was a big bundle of nerves the first time she appeared with Lamar Odom in public after his October 2015 drug overdose.

In a preview clip released by E! for the upcoming May 8 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloe and Lamar had a personal conversation in a private jet about appearing in public together for the first time since the former NBA star's hospital release.

"How was therapy today?" Khloe, 31, asks her estranged husband, 36, in the clip.

"Good," Lamar replies nonchalantly before turning his attention back to his phone.

"You're just chillin', right? You don't have anxiety. Only I do, great," Khloe vents.

Khloe then addressed the cameras in a confessional to explain why she was so uneasy about the situation.

"I've decided to go to New York with Lamar because I think this is something he truly wants to do, and at the end of the day, I want Lamar to be happy. I still feel a ton of anxiety and pressure, but if this makes him happy and I can keep him safe, then that's a match made in heaven," Khloe says.

Lamar, who almost died the day he was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel, returned to the spotlight when he attended Kanye West's "Yeezy Season 3" Fashion Week at Madison Square Garden in February. The rapper memorably escorted Lamar into the stadium as people cheered all around them, according to Us Weekly.

"Kanye was really instrumental in Lamar's getting better," Khloe previously told Hollywood Today Live. "He would come to the hospital and play his album for Lamar. And Lamar couldn't speak at the time. And music is definitely a form of therapy."

Reports at the time claimed Lamar's attendance at the fashion show was a way of saying "thank you" to Kim Kardashian's husband.

A source close to the Kardashian family told Us that Khloe and Lamar are on good terms but the reality TV star is constantly worried about his well-being.

"Khloe and the family are concerned Lamar could go back to his old ways," the source noted, adding that "Lamar refuses to listen to [Khloe]. He actually said, 'Nothing will happen to me. Look how I survived this last one.'"

Keeping Up with the Kardashians currently airs on Sunday nights at 9PM ET/PT on E!.
