On the heels of the double-platinum certification of Clay's debut CD, Measure of a Man, on November 17, Kelly's debut CD, Thankful, also received double-platinum certification, for sales of at least two million units, from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 8. In addition, Kelly's longform music video, Miss Independent, was certified gold on December 17 for sales of at least 50,000 units.

However, Kelly's immediate question is whether she managed to pull off victory in World Idol ... which is certainly possible, if the voters from around the world treat her with the same respect that the judges did. The answer will be revealed on the evening of January 1 on Fox in the U.S. and CTV in Canada, so stay tuned.
