Trump fired the Kate Plus 8 star and former Dancing with the Stars contestant after she served as Team Vortex's project manager for the season's ninth task, which required them to create an interactive themed environment featuring Trump National Doral Miami, a five-star resort with golf courses and over 700 rooms, and all of its new and improved amenities.

Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. would decide the winner based on creativity, brand integration and overall guest experience.

Before the task was underway, Trump sent The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore to Team Vortex, which was also comprised of Kate, Geraldo Rivera and Vivica A. Fox.

While Kate stepped up to serve as the project manager for Vortex, actor Ian Ziering decided to lead Team Infinity. Ian worked alongside Leeza Gibbons, Johnny Damon and Brandi Glanville.

Kate's team went with a "Blue Monster" theme, which is the name of the biggest golf course on the resort. Ian was able to get a professional golfer to help people with their swings and putting.

In the end, the competition "wasn't even close," according to Eric and Don. Ian's team was knowledgeable about the resort and presented an interactive, luxurious experience. However they didn't focus much on the children/family side of things.

Kate's team, on the other hand, nailed the family aspect of things but missed the mark on Trump luxury. It also wasn't very interactive.

As a result, Ian's team won by a landslide and the money went to the Medical Research Foundation for children  Kate was shocked her team lost but explained that they didn't achieve the luxury angle because Kenya and Vivica failed to get a lot of props to the scene due to their personal issues with one another, which ended up being very distracting

Kate said Vivica was the better player of the two, if she had to choose. Kenya argued that she had won a task as project manager before, beating Vivica at the time. Vivica then exploded and said Kenya made her feel uncomfortable and took away the possibility of having a pleasant working environment. Geraldo also noted that Kate had done a great job.

Despite the fact everyone ganged up on Kenya and her unlikable personality, Trump ended up firing Kate since she was ultimately in charge of the task and its theme.
