TLC has announced the series' currently-airing fourth season will be its last and conclude on September 15.

"TLC has decided that the current season of LA Ink will be its last," the network said in a Thursday statement.

"The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D's journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles. The series finale will air September 15th."

LA Ink's remaining fourth-season episodes began airing on TLC on July 28 -- only days after Von D and former fiance Jesse James announced they had ended their high-profile engagement and split.   However, given the episodes were filmed earlier this year, they have continued to show the former couple prior to their break-up.

LA Ink is the second veteran reality series TLC has canceled this week. On Monday, the network announced it is not renewing Kate Gosselin's Kate Plus 8 -- which began as Jon & Kate Plus 8 in 2007 before being relaunched as Kate Plus 8 last year following Gosselin's 2009 divorce from former husband Jon Gosselin -- for a third season.

Kate Plus 8's series finale will air September 12.
