The Kardashian family is not planning an intervention to help Rob Kardashian since his diabetes diagnosis, according to a source, although a recent report claimed otherwise.

"There is no planned intervention" for Rob by Kris Jenner or his Keeping Up with the Kardashians family, E! News reported.

Rob was taken to the hospital late last month because he wasn't feeling well. He quickly learned he has Type 2 diabetes, which allegedly served as a "wake-up" call for the overweight reality TV star, who also struggles with depression.

"Rob lives at his own place. He has for a while. And yes he is basically a shut-in, but that's not new. Has been for a long time, that is not news. He doesn't like being seen in public and limits his social life as such," said the source.

Earlier Wednesday, Us Weekly reported the Kardashians are staging an intervention for Rob, who previously competed on Dancing with the Stars and created his own line of socks.

"He agreed he will do follow-up doctors' appointments and he's taking medication to control his blood sugar," an insider told Us, adding that his mother and sisters have been "underwhelmed by his efforts" and are "concerned he's not taking the situation seriously."

So a friend of Rob's told the magazine the family is "planning on doing an intervention with him" because "he's detached himself from everyone. Nobody knows what's going on with him until it's too late."

But the E! News source contradicted that claim as well, saying Rob is not cut off from his family. In addition to remaining close to sister Khloe Kardashian, the source said he talks to his mother and has "no beef" with Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Other family members, including Kim Kardashian, have also supported him on social media recently.

The last time viewers saw the Kardashians really trying to get through to Rob in his time of struggle was during an April KUWTK episode, during which Kris asked professionals to enter Khloe's home -- where Rob was living at the time -- to counsel and motivate him.

The incident unfortunately just angered Rob more because he felt "ambushed" and hated talking on-camera to begin with. It seemed to wedge a gap between Rob and his mother, and Khloe took her brother's side.
