Kanye West has never been one to hide his ego, and he's apparently not starting now.

"Rap is the new rock 'n' roll. We the new rock stars, and I'm the biggest of all of them. I'm the No. 1 rock star on the planet," the rapper and boyfriend of Kim Kardashian said during a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, according to the New York Daily News.

West basically put himself on the same level as the iconic Michael Jackson in the music industry.

"I would not be Kanye West if it wasn't for Michael Jackson," he reportedly said. "I was able to ascend to massive heights. And I've got to a point that Michael Jackson did not break down. I have reached the glass ceiling, as a creative person, as a celebrity and I've been at it for 10 years."

During the interview, West also gushed about Kardashian, who is the mother of his daughter North "Nori" West, People reported.

"Family time -- it's what Kim gave me. She gave me everything. She gave me a family. She gave me a support system," said the 36-year-old hip-hop star. "She was in a powerful enough situation where she could love me without asking me for money, which is really hard for me to find."
