Juelia Kinney has revealed why she and JJ Lane broke up, although they tried to make their relationship work on Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars.

Juelia, single mom of a four-year-old daughter named Ireland, met JJ, who has a five-year-old daughter Gemma, on Bachelor in Paradise's second season, which aired in Summer 2015. At the time, the pair were only friends.

JJ, however, confirmed he was dating Juelia in September 2016, saying things had gotten serious between them two months prior.

Juelia revealed to Life & Style that she knew JJ for a year-and-a-half before they appeared on Marriage Boot Camp together, and the purpose of their stint on the show was to see if they could "escalate" their relationship. (While it only premiered last week, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars Season 9 filmed in September and October 2016).

When opening up about the demise of their romance, Juelia explained of the "exhausting" process, "One of the drills that we did, the information that came out of it was very shocking and hard to deal with."

So why exactly did Juelia and JJ break up? Juelia was hesitant to get into detail.

"Just based on information from Boot Camp -- which is the whole purpose of doing it -- we realized we weren't compatible, let's just put it that way... [But] I'll always care about JJ," Juelia revealed, adding, "I would never have any ill feelings toward him whatsoever."

Juelia admitted she and JJ "don't talk" anymore, but she elaborated, "We don't really have a reason to, but I still wish him the best."

Both individuals are also currently happy in new relationships.

JJ went public with his relationship with new girlfriend Kayla Hughes -- a Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader who is not a The Bachelor franchise alum -- in late September, and Juelia opened up about dating Evan Bass' brother, Aaron Bass, whom she met shortly before her pal Carly Waddell's June 2017 wedding.

"I went to Carly and Evan's wedding. I was a bridesmaid at their wedding, and Aaron was a groomsman. I actually didn't even know that Evan had a brother," Juelia told Life & Style with a big smile.

"And it's funny because I was just in [Los Angeles] helping Carly pick out her wedding dress, and Evan met Ireland, my daughter, and he never mentioned he had a brother. And so meeting him, I'll never forget... We were all walking in to try on our wedding attire and he was sitting there all tall, dark and handsome. And I was like, 'Who's that guy?' He was like, 'I'm Evan's brother!' They look nothing alike, so it was shocking."

Juelia wrote on Instagram recently that she ran off with Aaron at the wedding and they kissed on the beach. She called him "hot, charming and wonderful."

"Carly loves [our relationship]," Juelia gushed. "She's, like, obsessed. She's very happy."

Juelia isn't sure whether she'd like to have more children in the future, but maybe she'll make her mind up if her relationship with Aaron progresses to the next level.

"I'm okay with just having one [child], but I wouldn't say that I wouldn't have one," Juelia noted.

Juelia also teased that fans can expect the remainder of the Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars season to be "unexpected, shocking" and "exciting."

Prior to meeting on Bachelor in Paradise, Juelia competed for Chris Soules on The Bachelor's nineteenth season and JJ vied for Kaitlyn Bristowe's affection on The Bachelorette's eleventh edition.
