The Situation has apparently come clean and admitted reports he is in rehab are true, despite his previous denials.

"I want to set the record straight. I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion," Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino wrote in a Facebook posting late Wednesday afternoon.

"I have spent the past several weeks getting treatment for this problem and recuperating from my work and appearance schedule. I appreciate my fans support and love you guys."

TMZ had reported Sorrentino was in rehab for an unspecified substance abuse problem at an unidentified substance abuse facility on Tuesday evening, but his representative had proceeded to deny the accuracy of the report.

"He is not in rehab for substance abuse. He has spent the last several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule," the representative told RadarOnline, which had subsequently reported Sorrentino was receiving treatment for a prescription drug dependency.

Sorrentino had then also joined his representative in denying he was in rehab.

"Don't believe everything you read or hear," he tweeted Tuesday night.

"Do NOT Believe Everything You Hear, Especially from TMZ," he added in a follow-up tweet on Wednesday morning after a new TMZ report stated Sorrentino had been showing signs of substance abuse during last summer's filming of Jersey Shore's recently-concluded fifth season.
