Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino reportedly has a situation on his hands concerning his Jersey Shore moniker.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has received two applications to secure a trademark for "The Situation" -- one from the MTV reality star's brother and another from a south Jersey businessman, The Smoking Gun reported Monday.

Sorrentino's trademark application was filed December 28 by Naughty Limited -- a Las Vegas-based firm that operates several porn websites and is run by the Jersey Shore star's older brother Marc, The Smoking Gun reported.

The other trademark application was filed by Matthew Hunter on December 11, according to The Smoking Gun, which added his corporation was formed a month prior to his USPTO submission.

Hunter is looking to put "The Situation" on a variety of clothing items including bathing suits, underpants and track suits.

It is unclear if there is a connection between Sorrentino and Hunter, The Smoking Gun reported.

MTV confirmed late last week that Jersey Shore's first-season cast will return for the reality show's second season, which won't be set in Seaside Heights, NJ and will instead follow the cast in a "new destination."
