Jed's career choice was a got topic of discussion on Monday night's broadcast of Part 1 of The Bachelorette's two-part finale.

Hannah Brown's parents, Susanne and Robert, both expressed concern about the Nashville musician's job choice during the episode.

Susanne warned Hannah a life with Jed would include a lot of late nights in bars as he played gigs and even noted that Tyler Cameron, Hannah's other Final 2 bachelor, was already "on his own" and successful.

Meanwhile, Robert was concerned how Jed would provide for Hannah financially given he's currently a struggling musician.

"I need to find out what your goals are in life," Robert asked Jed.

"Right. So, I gave up a lot of other opportunities in my life to go after my dream, and I moved to Nashville for songwriting.  And I'm excited for that," Jed told Hannah's dad.

However, Robert seemed unimpressed by Jed's answer and asked a more direct follow-up.

"One of the things that I know that are going to be necessary, is providing for Hannah. Because she's always been, you know, our main priority. And that was the reason I was asking what your goals are as far as financially.  Because, you know, I just want to see -- you are still young, but there has to be a direction," he said.

Jed then revealed the existence of his dog food jingle.

"You know, my goal, as far as finances and stuff go in the future, I just want to have as many facets of income and back-up plans as I can. So that, no only can I support myself, but a family someday," Jed replied.

"You know, at this point my most major accomplishment is that I signed a deal with a dog food company. I've already like written their jingle, and that's been like my first real breakthrough. I was like, 'Oh, this is the start of something.'"

Internet sleuths then quickly tracked down the identity of Jed's unnamed dog food client, as well as commercials featuring his jingle. (Watch one of the commercials below!)

Given Jed's true aspiration is to be a country singer, it probably isn't surprising the "jingle" kind of sounds a bit like a country song about a dog.

"We get home and know who's been waiting. Wagging by the door." Jed sings.

"Rain or shine. Kind of love like nothing you've seen before."

"Your dog really does deserve the best. Go pick him up some BetterBowl."

According to its website, BetterBowl is a Michigan-based dog food company.

Its products are available in nine retail stores in Michigan, or online from Amazon and Walmart.

After he got direct with Jed, Hannah's father attempted to explain his line of questioning to Jed.

"You know, I'm just trying to look out for her," he said.

"Right," Jed replied.

"Because the no return policy, does hold up.  I consider marriage as a one-time deal," Robert continued.

"Right," Jed acknowledged.

"You know, sometimes the financial situations are the problem, and sometimes it's other things. But it's amazing how many times that is the main problem. And I'm a man that works fourteen, sixteen hours a day to make sure they're all taken care of," Robert said.

"Right," Jed responded.

"We just want to make sure that it's the right fit, because it's one cohesive family that we try to build," Robert said.

"Absolutely," Jed said.

After meeting with Hannah's parents, Jed was disappointed.

"It seemed like they were mainly concerned with the financial aspect of our relationship," he said. "They don't think I'm adequate or something."

The Bachelorette airs the second part of its finale on Tuesday, July 30, and Hannah will have to choose between Tyler and Jed.
