Lionsgate and Universal released a 70-second teaser for Michael, its new film based on the life and career of pop music and style icon Michael Jackson.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the movie stars Jaafar Jackson as his own controversial, Grammy-winning uncle. Jaafar is the 29-year-old son of Michael's brother Jermaine.

Nia Long, Laura Harrier, Juliano Krue Valdi, Miles Teller and Colman Domingo co-star in the biopic, which is set for theatrical release on April 26.

The film was made with the cooperation of Michael's estate.

Michael, who was tried and acquitted of sexually abusing young boys, died in 2009 of an accidental, doctor-administered drug overdose at the age of 50.

He was known for the classic 1980s songs "Beat It," "Thriller," "Billie Jean," "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin," "Bad," "Man in the Mirror," "Smooth Criminal" and "Dirty Diana."
