Hannah Ann Sluss says she would have turned down The Bachelorette if she had been offered the opportunity to star on the series' upcoming sixteenth season instead of Clare Crawley.

"I am not ready for that," Hannah Ann told former The Bachelor star Nick Viall during Wednesday's episode of his The Viall Files podcast.

After The Bachelor's Season 24 star Peter Weber called off their engagement and blindsided her with a breakup, Hannah Ann said earlier this month she's single and "ready to mingle."

However, Hannah Ann apparently isn't interested in mingling with 30 suitors at once.

"I've moved on, but also, it's different. Right now, dating, no one knows about it, it's private. But to be dating publicly again on such a national scale, and dating not just one person but twenty-plus guys, that's a huge responsibility," Hannah Ann admitted.

"If I were to ever do that, I would want to be just so emotionally and mentally strong, to where I could take that on. Putting myself in Peter's shoes, that was a big responsibility."

The 23-year-old Tennessee native and model continued, "That's a lot of filtering through so many personalities and emotions. That would've been really hard to do that turnaround."

ABC announced Clare as The Bachelorette's next star before Peter's The Bachelor edition even concluded on television and fans could find out how Hannah Ann's journey on the show turned out.

However, Hannah Ann suggested she's not upset Clare was given the chance instead.

"Had they asked you to be the Bachelorette, you would've said 'no?'" Nick asked for confirmation.

Hannah Ann replied. "[I would have said] 'no.'"

"I just got engaged, you know, I was very -- in my mind and heart, I was already thinking in the future for us," Hannah Ann elaborated.

"So it's like, losing the person I thought he was and losing the future I thought I had. That takes some time to get back on your feet, which I have. But I want to date just one right person now."

But Hannah shared she might be open to appearing on this summer's season of Bachelor in Paradise.

"Paradise, I'll see closer to the time where I'm at," the brunette beauty told Viall.

"I'm not going to close the door on any opportunity, but before giving myself to anything, I want to make sure I'm ready. That's a lot to take on."

Nick could definitely relate to Hannah Ann because he had finished as the runner-up on both Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe's respective seasons of The Bachelorette and got his heart broken both times before handing out roses on The Bachelor's 21st season in 2016.

On The Bachelor this year, Madison Prewett was Peter's frontrunner for his final rose but quit the show before the Final Rose Ceremony because she was worried her lifestyle was far too different from Peter's and she didn't want him to change for her.

Madison feared loving each other would always be an uphill battle because they simply weren't compatible.

Peter therefore proposed marriage to Hannah Ann at the Final Rose Ceremony in Australia since she had been so open and reassuring about her love for him. But Peter broke up with her after realizing he couldn't give the bachelorette his entire heart.

"I was completely blindsided. Word of advice: If you want to be with a woman, you need to become a real man," Hannah Ann told Peter during the live finale on March 10.

She added, "The most hurtful part is that you didn't respect me enough to sit me down and have that open conversation with me [about Madison], to tell me exactly where your heart was at prior to me saying 'yes' to something I had no idea I was walking into."

Following Peter's split with Hannah Ann, The Bachelor host Chris Harrison played matchmaker and informed Madison -- who admitted she regretting leaving Peter in Australia and still loved him -- that Peter was single again, setting up a reunion for the pair that resulted in them getting back together.

However, Peter's family had no shame in voicing their disapproval of Peter and Madison's revived romance, and Peter and Madison announced two days later on March 12 they had mutually decided to part ways.

In Peter's statement on Instagram announcing his breakup, he said of Hannah Ann, "You set an example for women everywhere a couple nights ago. You are such a strong, confident woman and you deserve all the love in the world. I accept full responsibility for my mistakes in our relationship and wish you only the best."

The Bachelorette's sixteenth season has yet to begin filming due to concerns over the coronavirus.

Since production has been postponed, Clare may end up with a completely different cast of bachelors and ABC is still taking applicants.
