Goo Goo Dolls performed a Tiny Desk concert for NPR Music, playing a four-song set that included two hits from the band's 1998 quintuple-platinum album, Dizzy Up the Girl.
The Goo Goo Dolls -- featuring several longtime members including lead vocalist and guitarist John Reznick and bassist and vocalist Robby Takac, with Jimmy McGorman on keys, piano and backing vocals, Brad Fernquist on guitar and mandolin and Craig Macintyre on drums -- opened with "Slide," one of four top ten hits from the 1998 album.
The band followed "Slide" with "Feel the Silence," from their 2006 album, Let Love In, and "Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes)," which features on the 2025 album, Summer Anthem, released in August.
As would be expected, the set closed with "Iris," which was written for the soundtrack to the movie City of Angels, and also appears on Dizzy Up the Girl. The song has seen a resurgence in popularity after being featured in last year's film Deadpool & Wolverine.
