Kitchen Nightmares' third season scheduling represents its first midseason debut -- as its first season aired in Fall 2007 and its second edition aired last fall. In addition, it is the first season of the reality series to air in a Friday night timeslot.

Fox renewed Kitchen Nightmares as part of a multi-year development deal it inked with Gordon Ramsay in September 2008.

As part of the agreement, Fox also ordered sixth and seventh editions of Hell's Kitchen, an additional unspecified new reality series, and Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live -- a special that is based on a prior U.K. cooking special in which viewers cook along with Ramsay from their homes.

Gordon Ramsay: Cookalong Live will air live on Tuesday, December 15 at 9PM ET/PT on Fox.

Earlier this month, Fox also announced it has ordered Masterchef, a new culinary competition series that will feature Ramsay overseeing a group of wannabe chefs with no food industry experience who are trying to take their kitchen hobby to a professional level.
