The 7 1/2-week trek supporting the former 98 Degrees member's second solo album, "What's Left of Me," begins Wednesday in Albany, N.Y.

"Fortunately this (album) has been successful and it's allowed me the opportunity to go out and do it," says Lachey, whose album deals extensively with is split from fellow pop star Jessica Simpson.

Touring, Lachey says, "is definitely something I've missed. It's been a good five years since I've been on the road. It's exciting to be back here and doing it again."
