The body of socialite Casey Johnson was discovered in her Los Angeles home Monday, police said. She was 30.

The Johnson & Johnson heiress had been diagnosed with diabetes as a child and was rumored to have long battled a substance abuse problem, E! News said.

TMZ said the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the circumstances of her death.

"It appears to be a natural death," Officer Sara Faden told "There's no evidence of foul play. A toxicology report from the coroner's office will proceed next."

A law enforcement source told TMZ it appears Johnson was dead for several days before her body was found.

The daughter of New York Jets owner Woody Johnson and the socialite Sale Johnson made headlines recently after she was arrested for allegedly stealing clothes, shoes and jewelry from a former friend. She last month announced her engagement to reality television personality Tila Tequila.

"She was troubled, very very troubled," a source close to the family told E! News. "She always said she'd be dead before she was 30."

Tequila confirmed Johnson's death Monday.

Tequila told TMZ she and Johnson had been fighting and she last saw her fiancee Dec. 28. Tequila said Johnson's phone appeared to have been shut off since Dec. 29 and she was not able to reach her.

Johnson, a New York native, is survived by an adopted daughter named Ava, various reports said.
