Singer Jason Castro, a contestant on the seventh season of "American Idol," got married outside Dallas, guests to the event confirmed.

Guests to Saturday's wedding said via the social networking service Twitter that Castro, 22, married girlfriend Mandy Mayhall, months after he reportedly proposed to her as they were dressed as "Beauty and the Beast" characters for Halloween, People.com reported.

People magazine said the couple officially confirmed the engagement in November.

Castro, who finished fourth on "Idol," is scheduled to release the Atlantic Records EP "The Love Uncompromised" on Jan. 12.

People magazine said a full-length album from Castro is expected sometime this spring and his tour is scheduled to begin this month.
