The former Laguna Beach star has been cast for the new independent film Wild Cherry, Daily Variety reported Sunday.

Cavallari will be joined in the ensemble comedy by Rob Schneider, Tania Raymonde, Rumer Willis and Ryan Merriman, according to Variety.  Filming is scheduled to commence May 7 in Winnipeg.

Wild Cherry will reportedly follow Schneider, who plays the father of a high school senior who has decided to lose her virginity to her boyfriend, the football team's kicker.  However when she learns her boyfriend is only interested in adding her to the team's "bang book," she and her friends plot their revenge.

Cavallari's role in the film has yet to be announced.

Wild Cherry is being produced by Gavin Wilding with Kyle Bornais, Jesse Kennedy, Mike DiManno and Scott Reid serving as executive producers with Evan Tylor, Variety reported.  The film, which was written by Chris Charney, will be directed by Dana Lustig.

Cavallari regularly appeared as Laguna Beach cast member when the MTV reality series premiered in Fall 2004, and she was constantly feuding with the show's other starlet Lauren Conrad.

Rumors surfaced last December that she'd be joining the cast of Laguna Beach's The Hills spin-off, however they were promptly shot down by Conrad. Cavallari was subsequently a member of the audience when Conrad unveiled her new clothing line, and the two have since buried the hatchet.

Cavallari recently concluded filming Spring Breakdown, which is currently in post-production.
