Fear Factor is being revived and revamped on Fox for the network's 2025-2026 season.

The iconic reality competition series will be coming back "bigger, bolder and more daring" than ever before, according to Fox.
Adopting a Special Forces-style of format, a group of strangers will be dropped into an "unforgiving" remote location to live under one roof.
Fox shared that the group of strangers will face "mind-blowing stunts, harrowing challenges and a twisted game of social strategy where trust is fleeting -- and fear is a weapon."
The show's working title is Fear Factor: The Next Chapter, and it's expected to premiere in Spring 2026.
Fear Factor's official cast and premiere date, however, will be announced at a later date.
Fear Factor: The Next Chapter is being produced by Endemol Shine North America with Kevin Lee, Sharon Levy, Michael Heyerman and Sean Loughlin serving as executive producers.
The reimagined series is based on the original format, Fear Factor, created by Endemol Shine Netherlands.
Fox made the scheduling announcement when unveiling the network's 2025-2026 season.
The first season of Fear Factor debuted in 2001 on NBC and ran through 2006. The show was initially hosted by comedian and UFC commentator Joe Rogan, and contestants were pitted against each other.
Fear Factor contestants who completed their tasks continued to advance in the competition until only one team remained. The winning team received a $50,000 grand prize.
NBC canceled Fear Factor in 2006 after six seasons, but the network revived the stunt/dare game for a nine-episode run in 2011.

Hosted by Joe Rogan, Fear Factor's 2011 revival utilized advancements in technology to test its contestants' physical and mental limits through a series of challenges.
The show also featured a new couples format in which four teams of two people -- including spouses, family members, co-workers, and friends -- competed against one another.
In 2017, MTV revived the series with rapper and actor Ludacris taking on the role of host.
MTV's Fear Factor ran for two seasons before it was canceled in 2018.
As part of its 2025-2026 programming, Fox will also air new unscripted series 99 To Beat and Gordon Ramsay's Next Level Baker.
The returning unscripted shows are Beat Shazam, Don't Forget The Lyrics!, Extracted, The Floor, Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, LEGO Masters, The Masked Singer, Name That Tune, Next Level Chef and Special Forces: World's Toughest Test.
