David "Puck" Rainey and his 8-year-old son were both seriously injured in a Friday car crash that was allegedly caused by the former The Real World: San Francisco cast member driving drunk.

Rainey will be arrested for driving under the influence and driving without a license when he is released from the hospital, California Highway Patrol told TMZ in a Wednesday report.

In addition, Rainey will also be charged with child endangerment since his son was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, TMZ reported.

Rainey was driving down Route 79 in San Diego on Friday for a father-son fishing trip when he claimed he swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of the vehicle, TMZ reported, however police have since stated the accident was due to drunk driving.

While Rainey was trapped inside the vehicle after it rolled down an embankment, TMZ reported he was able to free his son -- who subsequently flagged down some help from a passing motorist.

Rainey's son -- who bruised several internal organs and injured his liver -- has been released from the hospital, however the former The Real World star will remain hospitalized for at least another week with broken bones in both feet, a broken neck, sternum and clavicle, according to TMZ.

Rainey was infamously evicted from The Real World: San Francisco house in 1994 due to problems with the other cast members.
