The 55th Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve is adding a Chicago celebration to its slate of Dec. 31 festivities.

The city will host a midnight countdown for those living in the Central Time zone, a press release states, joining the iconic countdown in New York City, and Puerto Rico's Spanish-language countdown.

"We are proud to announce that Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve is coming to the greatest city in the world. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the beauty and dynamism of our city and its people for the world to see," said Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. "We could not be more excited to welcome the New Year with fireworks, music and Chicago pride."

The show kicks off at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.

This year's host and performers have yet to be announced.
