Deal or No Deal and Howie Do It host Howie Mandel has been hospitalized in Toronto for an irregular heartbeat.

Toronto police were called to Mandel's hotel room shortly after 7PM on Monday evening after receiving a report of a man suffering from a medical condition, Toronto police Staff Sergeant Devin Kealy told the Canadian Press, according to The Associated Press.

The 53-year-old comedian was reportedly conscious and breathing when police arrived. He was transported to St. Michael's hospital with family members by his side.

"Howie is in the hospital being monitored for an irregular heartbeat but doctors expect him to be released and back to work tomorrow," Mandel's publicist Lewis Kay said in a statement, according to The AP. "He did not have a heart attack."

Mandel had been in Toronto, his hometown, taping Howie Do It, his new hidden camera prank show that premiered last week on NBC.

Mandel is expected to be released from the hospital on Tuesday, according to Kay, the AP reported.
