Dancing with the Stars eliminated Sean Spicer and his temporary professional partner Jenna Johnson, who filled in for Lindsay Arnold the past two weeks, at the end of Girl Group and Boy Band night during Monday night's Season 28 broadcast on ABC.

The former White House press secretary and Jenna landed in the bottom two along with former American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina and partner Gleb Savchenko based on the combination of judges' scores from Monday night and the home-viewer votes cast live as Dancing with the Stars aired in the Eastern and Central time zones on ABC.

Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman were able to vote to save one of the bottom-two couples from elimination. (Len, as the head judge, casts the deciding vote in the case of opposing votes from Carrie Ann and Bruno).

Carrie Ann and Bruno, however, both voted to keep Lauren and Gleb in the competition.

"I miss you [Lindsay], I wish I could've done better. Thank you for everything you did and thanks to everyone who supported me," Sean said in his final words.

"Thanks to me family for everything they did. I loved being on this show. Thank you for making me a part of it. God bless you all. Happy Veteran's Day!"

Prior to Sean and Jenna's ouster, each of the six celebrity and professional pairings danced to music from girl groups in the first round of competition followed by boy bands in the second round.

All the couples were competing for a spot in next week's semifinals of Dancing with the Stars' 28th season.

On Monday night, *NSYNC boy band member Joey Fatone served as a guest judge alongside Carrie Ann, Bruno and Len.

Pop star and Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke and partner Sasha Farber topped the leaderboard in first place with 80 out of 80 possible points after they received two perfect scores from the judges for their two routines of the night.

Ally and Sasha first danced the samba to "Wannabe" by Spice Girls, which earned 40 out of 40 points, and then they followed that up with a 40-point worthy jazz routine to "Step By Step" by New Kids On the Block.

Comedian and actor Kel Mitchell and partner Witney Carson finished in second place on the leaderboard with a total of 74 points.

After performing a paso doble routine to "Free Your Mind" by En Vogue that earned 34 points from the judges, Kel and Witney nailed a Viennese waltz to "I'll Make Love To You" by Boyz II Men, which added a perfect score of 40 to their points from Round 1.

Actor James Van Der Beek and partner Emma Slater claimed third place on the judges' leaderboard with 72 total points.

James and Emma first took the stage with a jive routine to "I'm So Excited" by The Pointer Sisters that received 36 points from the judges. For Round 2, the couple danced jazz to "Bye Bye Bye" by *NSYNC and earned 36 additional points.

Fourth place on the night's leaderboard went to The Bachelorette star Hannah Brown and partner Alan Bersten with a total score of 71 points.

Hannah and Alan initially danced a salsa to TLC's "No Scrubs" that received 32 points from the judges, but they later shined with a tango to "Boy With Luv" by BTS featuring Halsey that raked in 39 more judges' points.

Lauren and Gleb's first dance was a quickstep set to "You Can't Hurry Love" by The Supremes.

After earning 34 judges' points, the couple performed a rumba in Round 2 to "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys. The pair's rumba received 36 points from the judges.

And finally, Sean and Jenna fell into sixth -- and last -- place on the leaderboard with a total of 50 judges' points. Jenna had been filling in for Lindsay because Lindsay's mother-in-law had unexpectedly passed away last week.

Sean and Jenna's first individual routine was a 26-point worthy Argentine tango to "Bills, Bills, Bills" by Destiny's Child. The couple later followed that up with a foxtrot to "Story of My Life" by One Direction that scored 24 points from the judges.
