Caitlyn Jenner has confirmed she underwent sex reassignment surgery and it went just as she had expected.

Jenner revealed the news in her upcoming memoir The Secrets of My Life, which hits shelves on April 25. In an excerpt from the book obtained by RadarOnline, the 67-year-old former Olympian disclosed she went under the knife for her "final surgery" in January 2017.

"The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful, but liberated," The former I Am Cait star reportedly wrote.

"I am telling you because I believe in candor. So all of you can stop staring. You want to know, so now you know. Which is why this is the first time, and the last time, I will ever speak of it."

Jenner began her transgender transition nearly two years ago, when Bruce Jenner introduced himself as Caitlyn Jenner to the world by gracing the cover of June 2015's issue of Vanity Fair. She later conducted a tell-all interview with Diane Sawyer.

Jenner reportedly explains her decision to have the "complex" genital reconstruction surgery in the memoir despite being warned of serious health risks by doctors.

"So why even consider it? Because it's just a penis," the excerpt reads. "It has no special gifts or use for me other than what I have said before, the ability to take a whiz in the woods. I just want to have all the right parts. I am also tired of tucking the damn thing in all the time."

"I am going to live authentically for the first time in my life," Jenner continues, according to RadarOnline. "I am going to have an enthusiasm for life that I have not had in 39 years since the Olympics, almost two thirds of my life."

During an I Am Cait second-season episode which aired in March 2016 , Jenner revealed she only wants to date men going forward.

Jenner previously admitted she panicked after waking up from her breast augmentation and 10-hour facial-feminization surgery in March 2015. Jenner told Vanity Fair at the time she had thought to herself, "What did I just do? What did I just do to myself?" Jenner has apparently received counseling and therapy throughout her transformation.

Jenner will open up to Sawyer about her life once again for a special edition of 20/20 on Friday, April 20.

The Secrets of My Life is reportedly co-authored by Buzz Bissinger, who also wrote Jenner's lengthy Vanity Fair article.
