Caitlyn Jenner has clarified her stance on gay marriage after wavering for a bit between her old views as a man and her current views as a transgender woman.

Jenner gave a confusing answer to whether she's onboard with same-sex marriage during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres earlier this month.

"I have to admit that I remember 15 years ago, 20 years ago -- whenever it was that the whole gay marriage issue came up -- at first, I was not for it," Jenner had told DeGeneres.

"I thought, 'I am a traditionalist. I'm older than most people in the audience. I like tradition and it's always been between a man and a woman and I'm thinking I don't quite get it...' But as time has gone on, I think like a lot of people on this issue, I've really changed thinking."

So in a Monday blog post, the self-professed political conservative revealed she's definitely become more understanding of gay marriage although it's an opinion she's only "recently embraced."

"Being different is okay -- in fact, it's great! But I also understand it takes some getting used to. Like many people, there was a time when I didn't realize how important it is for gay couples to have the right to get married," Jenner wrote.

"But after hearing from my gay friends and learning more about the hardships they faced because of discrimination, it became clear to me that everyone should be able to marry the person they love. I can only hope that by sharing my story, there's someone out there whose mind has been changed about trans people."

Jenner explained it's important to have the courage to overcome obstacles and "be your authentic self."
