NBC has announced Running Wild with Bear Grylls, a new reality series starring famed adventurer and survivalist Bear Grylls as he takes a handful of high-profile celebrities on a 48-hour journey of a lifetime, will premiere on Monday, July 28 at 8PM ET/PT.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls will feature Zac Efron, Ben Stiller, Channing Tatum, Deion Sanders, Tom Arnold, and Tamron Hall heading into the most remote and wild locations in the United States for 48 hours of extreme tasks and conditions. Each celebrity will have one stand-alone episode in which he or she will be partnered with Grylls one-on-one.

"Running Wild allows viewers to see inside the hearts and minds of these guests in a very open, honest and vulnerable way, pushing them out of their comfort zones and seeing what they are like in real life when stripped of all the benefits of celebrity," Grylls said in a statement.

"Ultimately, this show is about taking these stars on the adventure of a lifetime and being alongside them when they discover something new and empowering about themselves and their world. For me, that is always a privilege."

Each celebrity will endure the harsh wilderness in an action-based trip to over six remote locations. They will skydive into the Catskill Mountains, rappel down Utah's cliffs and battle wind and rain in Scotland. Grylls will attempt to push the stars' minds and bodies to the limit in order to successfully complete their journey.

"Bear's incredible spirit is absolutely contagious, not only with his celebrity partners but with the viewing audience as well," added NBC reality chief Paul Telegdy. "We can't wait to see how these epic adventures will profoundly change those who take the challenge."

NBC has ordered six episodes of the new hour-long series created by Grylls himself, who also starred on the network's Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls reality show last summer.

Running Wild with Bear Grylls is being produced by Electus and Bear Grylls Ventures. In addition to Grylls, Ben Silverman, Chris Grant, Corie Henson, Laura Caraccioli, Doug McCallie, and Viki Cacciatore will be serving as executive producers.
