Alexe and Andrew seemed to be crazy about each other, but they apparently had to deal with real-world problems once they left the cozy Bachelor in Paradise bubble.
"I think off the jump, we were just like, 'Well, we have to make this work. We can't go into this and just break up right after. We have to figure [this] out,'" Andrew said during a joint appearance with Alexe on a recent episode of the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast.
Alexe chimed in, "[We had agreed], 'There's a reason why we like each other, so let's try to ride that wave.'"
Andrew therefore said the couple "started from scratch" and chose to "re-date" each other.
"And we got into a lot of fights during that time period when we were just trying to figure each other out -- like, the real us," Andrew admitted.
"Because you don't really get annoyed with each other on the show, when you're in, like, this honeymoon phase the whole time."
Andrew laughed about how Alexe once got mad at him over a sandwich.
"That's when I was like, 'Okay, now we're getting the real juices in there!'" Andrew joked.
Alexe clarified, "But it was also, you know, a bad month -- period of the month -- when your hormones are a little bit more heightened."
Alexe insisted there was "context missing" to that fight but she didn't really remember what happened.

"That's the thing with Andrew though, is for the first time, I'm trying to work on my flaws, and I think I was driving and I wanted to eat my sandwich," Alexe recalled.
"It was getting all messy and I was like, 'You can't drive!' Anyways, it was just one of those moments that you're not proud of. I get overstimulated so fast, and that's my biggest flaw. And when I get overstimulated, I get so mean."
Andrew, however, said those arguments brought them closer together because they "started to understand each other a little bit more."
"And that's when you really start to know who your partner is and you start to really like them. We fight and then you get over the fight," Andrew said.
"And we don't go longer than maybe like 30 minutes staying mad at each other," he added.
"And for the most part, they're just dumb arguments and they're never, like, aggressive or malicious."
But Andrew laughed and pointed out how Alexe does "cut" him sometimes.

Alexe insisted she's just joking around when she says that.
"I'll be like, 'You're ugly and you have a big nose!'" Alexe confessed with a laugh.
"But I can't stop laughing," Andrew clarified. "I think it's so funny. I don't know why."
Alexe went on to quip, "You're too handsome and so I feel like I need to humble you. That's why [I say that] and you know it!"
Alexe said she recently heard from Andrew's friend that he is "a diva" and so she's "totally going to use that" against him in fights going forward.
