Julia proceeded to share how the Bravo executive had said she's "not the greatest dancer on the planet" during an episode of his SiriusXM radio show last year.
Andy's comment apparently gave the Save the Last Dance actress the motivation to compete on Dancing with the Stars this season and hopefully prove him wrong.
"We're going to win the Mirrorball, sit on Andy's couch and be like, 'Hey!'" Julia declared.
Julia and Ezra ultimately took the stage with a quickstep to "9 to 5" by Dolly Parton.
DWTS judge Derek Hough called the routine "beautiful" and "graceful," before shouting at the camera during the live ABC broadcast, "Andy Cohen, you can eat it."
On Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen later that night, Andy, 58, addressed Julia's remark and issued a formal apology.
Andy called himself "a jackhole" and continued, "Julia, I am so sorry. I am the last person who should be giving anyone feedback on their dancing."
Andy cringed and made fun of his own dancing skills -- or lack thereof, apparently -- after watching the controversial Dancing with the Stars clip back.
"Great job, Julia Stiles," Andy added.
"You killed it tonight. You did amazing tonight. I know you're going to have a great run. And this diva gives all of you permission to flood my inbox with the 10 things you hate about me."

Julia, a self-declared Super Fan of Dancing with the Stars, revealed that it took her a long time to finally decide to compete on the reality dancing competition.
Julia admitted the opportunity scared her but it was finally time to bet on herself and say yes.
In addition to Derek, fellow Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli raved about Julia and Ezra's Week 1 performance.
The judges scored the pair a total of 18 out of 30 possible points.

"I am very impressed by her work ethic, her drive, and just to see her growth in the two weeks," Ezra told People of his celebrity partner.
"It makes me super excited to see her growth and her journey on the show. Especially with her being a fan of the show, it makes me just so excited."
