When American Idol returns in January, it will have a brand new schedule, airing on Mondays beginning January 26.
Judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood will return to the judging panel and work alongside longtime Idol host Ryan Seacrest.
In a fresh twist, American Idol will film its iconic "Hollywood Week" in Nashville, TN.
"Hollywood Week: Music City Takeover will feature one round only as the hopefuls from all musical genres take the stage for a make-or-break performance, facing the biggest 'Hollywood Week' cut in Idol history," according to the network.
Last season, American Idol aired on Sunday nights.
American Idol crowned Jamal Roberts, a 27-year-old PE teacher from Meridian, MS, its Season 23 winner over runner-up John Foster, an 18-year-old college student from Addis, LA, earlier this year.
Jamal won American Idol after the show had its "biggest finale in ABC Idol history" with over 26 million votes cast, which was more than double the 2024 finale, according to Ryan.
Breanna Nix, a 25-year-old stay-at-home mom from Denton, TX, placed third.
Carrie has been a judge on American Idol since Season 23, when she replaced former judge Katy Perry.
Luke and Lionel both joined American Idol for Season 16 back in 2017.
