Melanie "Mel B" Brown has opened up about her sexually-charged relationship with husband Stephen Belafonte and previously dating a woman.

Following her divorce from Jimmy Gulzar -- the father of her eldest daughter, Phoenix, now 15 -- in the early 2000s, Brown engaged in a long-term relationship with a female named Crista Parker, The Guardian reported.

"People call me lesbian, bisexual or heterosexual, but I know who's in my bed and that's it... I have a huge libido and a great sex life," the America's Got Talent and UK's The X Factor judge told The Guardian.

"I did have a four-year relationship with a woman. But I've been very happily married for seven years to a penis. Ha ha! An amazing guy."

Parker brought her children to the same Los Angeles school as Phoenix, where Brown, 39, apparently met her.

"I've definitely not been shy or been one to hold back. If I wanted to try something, I did. I had a girlfriend. So what?" the former Spice Girls member explained, clarifying that she is not in an open-relationship with Belafonte.

"No, me and my husband are very tight and solid. But I will be the first one to compliment a woman, to say to my husband, 'Oh my God, look at her legs,' or 'Doesn't she look stunning?' I do think women are gorgeous. Crazy but gorgeous."

Brown is currently raising her three daughters in Los Angeles with Belafonte at her side. They welcomed her youngest child Madison together, and Brown's middle daughter is from her previous relationship with actor Eddie Murphy, which was reportedly very turbulent for awhile. Brown dated Murphy after Parker.

Despite experimenting with women, Brown told The Guardian Belafonte is her soulmate because "we're both perverts," she said. "We are."

In fact, the couple apparently has sex up to five times a day and their children know to always knock on their bedroom door before entering.

"Everybody sees the word 'pervert' as something different, and I don't want to tell you what my pervert-ness is, or what his is... [But] it's nothing too extreme, it just works," Brown explained. "Let me put it this way, we're just very sexually compatible in every way. We think very much alike, and we get turned on by the same things."

But the singer insists there is much more to their relationship than just the physical.

"My husband is very spontaneous, he's very supportive and solid, he's very honest, very real, very to the point, and loves to work. So I married myself, basically. And he annoys me sometimes," she noted.

"He's been my rock when nobody else believed in me. The one who's said, 'Go for it, Melanie: go and do Dancing with the Stars, go and do America's Got Talent, go and release a single if you like.' He's the one who has rebirthed my confidence."

And the word "confidence" might actually be an understatement at this point, according to the magazine.

"Yes, I do have a big ego. And I am in love with myself... Because if you don't love yourself how can anybody love you back?... I know I'm not everybody's cup of tea. I'm just me," Brown explained.
