The 41-year-old former MLB star called Lopez an "amazing" person while confirming his romance with the 47-year-old singer on Friday's episode of "The View."

"It's obvious [we're dating]," Rodriguez said. "We're having a great time. She's an amazing, amazing girl. One of the smartest human beings I've ever met and also an incredible mother."

"[One thing you may not know is] she was a track star in high school and junior high. She's an awesome, awesome athlete," he added. "She just likes simple things. She's a very, very simple person. She loves [her] family."

Rodriguez and Lopez were spotted together March 10 in the Bahamas after being linked earlier in the month.

Sources told "Entertainment Tonight" the pair were introduced by mutual friends and bonded over their love of family.

"They're both single, have these huge careers and their families are their No. 1 priorities," an insider said. "They have a lot in common and friends thought they could be really good together."

Rodriguez shares daughters Natasha and Ella with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis, while Lopez is mom to twins Max and Emme with former husband Marc Anthony.

People recently reported Lopez is "excited" about the new relationship.

"[Alex] has been around her family and she really likes that he is a dad," a source said. "For now, it's just fun."

Rodriguez retired from the New York Yankees in August after more than a decade with the team. He said on "The View" that Lopez, who hails from The Bronx, is a "big" fan of the Yankees.
