ABC has confirmed it will announce The Bachelor's sixteenth-season star during Bachelor Pad's second-season finale broadcast on Monday, September 12.

Yesterday, Us Weekly reported Ben Flajnik -- who was rejected at the end of The Bachelorette's August 2 finale when The Bachelorette star Ashley Hebert selected and presented her final rose to fellow suitor J.P. Rosenbaum instead -- will serve as the next star of The Bachelor.

According to Us, ABC believes the 28-year-old winemaker from Sonoma, CA has the makings of a successful Bachelor because he was a fan favorite during his The Bachelorette edition.

"They think he'll be ratings gold," a source told Us. "His [August 6] date with Jennifer Love Hewitt was icing on the cake!"

In addition to Flajnik, fellow former seventh-season The Bachelorette bachelors Ryan Park and Ames Brown were also under consideration for The Bachelor role, according to previous reports.
