90 Day Fiance star Jonathan Rivera has confirmed he and wife Fernanda Flores have separated and split.

On Monday night, Jonathan took to Instagram with a photo showing he had celebrated New Year's Eve with his mother Ceci instead of Fernanda.
"Bring in the New Year with this special lady!" he captioned the image in which he was sitting next to his mom and smiling.
"Wishing all my friends, familia and supporters an abundance of love, health, wealth and success in 2019! #Family #Love #Health #Wealth #Success #NewYearsEve #2019 #familyfirst."
Comments then poured in from concerned fans who were wondering why Jonathan's wife was missing from the celebration.
Jonathan went on to post over 40 comments about the current status of his relationship with Fernanda. (Meanwhile, Fernanda's Instagram Stories appeared to show her celebrating New Year's Eve at a house party somewhere else.)
"She left and then quickly had a change of heart. I decided I didn't want someone who was so quick to give up on everything I worked so hard to provide. Plain and simple," Jonathan wrote of Fernanda in a since-deleted Instagram comment.
Jonathan told his followers, "The truth will come out soon. I've always given 1000 percent."

In the face of criticism Jonathan is walking away from his marriage without putting up much of a fight, he responded, "If you think 2.5 years is giving up quick then yes. You don't know the details... I never gave up. I gave 1000 percent always, until it wasn't enough."
Jonathan later added, "She refused the help and the friends and opportunities I tried to provide for her. You can only give so much until you start giving up the things you love and it still means nothing."

"Nobody had more faith than me... I couldn't take giving everything and still being stripped of the things I loved... Eventually she hated where we lived. I tried many time to give her everything she ever wanted but it wasn't enough," Jonathan wrote to fans.
As for where Fernanda was at the time, Jonathan claimed, "She's in Houston. She wanted to pursue a modeling career in Chicago. Decided to leave and realized she couldn't do it on her own. She said MANY things you can't take back that I won't mention, you'll have to trust me when I tell you."
Jonathan reiterated how Fernanda "decided to leave" and then she "left me on the airplane in Chicago among many other things."
"I decided to spend the rest of the time with my family," he wrote. "When she realized her lifestyle was going to be different she wanted to apologize and asked me to forgive her. I haven't... She missed me after she decided to leave."

When one fan questioned whether this is a publicity stunt, Jonathan replied, "I would never. I don't need publicity. She's the one who started airing our issues. I kept my mouth shut for long enough."
Rumors swirled the weekend before Christmas that Jonathan and Fernanda's relationship was falling apart and they may have split because Fernanda was "airing our issues," as Jonathan had put it.

"He stripped away my self-worth, layer by layer until there was nothing left of my personality. Yet I never forgot about the girl who I used to be. She lived inside, my caged soul, waiting for the day I would set her free. Casting her light into my dark mind, hoping that I would see, flashes of a better life, glimpses of possibility. I was never alone because she believed in me," Fernanda wrote, although the post was deleted shortly afterwards.
Part of Jonathan's Instagram rant on New Year's Eve appeared to address Fernanda's deleted Instagram post.
When a person expressed confusion over the state of Jonathan and Fernanda's relationship, he replied, "I am not one for drama. I prefer to remain private but I'm not ok with my spouse airing our laundry to get my attention. Deleted me, deleting or pictures then putting them back. I mean come on."

Jonathan also insisted he never went out partying or clubbing during the first nine months he was with Fernanda in the United States. He said he met with friends on only one occasion that was not work related.
As for Fernanda, she recently posted a couple of cryptic Instagram posts, supplying more evidence she and Jonathan have called it quits on their romance.
"When a toxic person can no longer control you, they will try to control how others see you," Fernanda previously shared on Instagram Stories. "The misinformation will feel unfair, but stay above it, trusting that other people will eventually see the truth, just like you did."
And earlier this week, the TLC reality star shared a photo of her wedding day, quoting her groom's vows.
"'I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honour you all the days of my life' -He said," the caption stated.
90 Day Fiance fans were probably surprised to see Jonathan spending New Year's Eve with his mother considering their relationship was rocky on the latest season.
Not only did Jonathan's mother seem to disapprove of Fernanda upon first meeting her, but she repeatedly suggested they should date much longer and wait to tie the knot.
However, Jonathan insists his mother actually liked Fernanda.

"My family remains neutral but will fully support any decision I decide to make... Family is so important, I will never forget that.
Although Jonathan is clearly upset with and disappointed in Fernanda, he asked people not to "bad mouth" her.
"I hope you all continue to support her. I guess you reach a point were you can’t allow yourself to do more or you’ll lose your self worth," Jonathan wrote.
He also said, "Im only giving the truth. I know it may not be what everyone wants to hear but unfortunately it’s the truth. It hurts me to say it."
90 Day Fiance's sixth-season reunion special is set to air Sunday, January 6 at 8PM ET/PT on TLC. However, given it was filmed in November, it remains unclear whether it will address Jonathan and Fernanda's current status.
