Third episode of 'Average Joe' rebounds in ratings, draws 10.0 million viewers

By Reality TV World staff, 11/18/2003

The ratings for NBC's Monday, November 17 third episode of Average Joe are in, and there's both good news and bad news for the network. The good news is that the episode drew 700,000 more viewers than last week's second episode and its Adults 18-49 rating was up 15% over the prior week. The bad news that the numbers were still down significantly from the program's premiere.

According to updated Nielsen Media Research in-home viewing figures, the third episode of Average Joe again finished third behind CBS' CSI: Miami and ABC's Monday Night Football telecast in its highly competitive 10-11 PM ET timeslot, scoring a 5.3/13 rating/share in the Adults 18-49 demographic and drawing 10.0 million overall viewers. In addition, while both ABC and CBS were encountering half-hour to half-hour ratings declines in the time period, Average Joe was increasing its 18-49 rating by 0.4 of a rating point.

The performance is a rebound from the second episode's disappointing Adults 18-49 4.6/12 rating/share and 9.3 million overall viewers, but still well below the premiere's Adults 18-49 5.8/15 score and 11.2 million overall viewers.
