The Voice featured the nineteenth season's Top 9 artists being narrowed down to only five finalists in a series of major cuts during Tuesday night's live results show.

The Voice host Carson Daly explained at the beginning of the broadcast that the top votegetter from each coach's team would automatically advance to the finale and then the remaining contestants must perform for the last "Instant Save" of the season.

The "Instant Save" winner, determined by America's votes in a five-minute window at the end of the one-hour live broadcast, would then round out the Top 5.

The four finale contenders who automatically advanced were Desz, a 30-year-old choir singer from Houston, TX who currently resides in Los Angeles, CA; John Holiday, a 35-year-old voice teacher from Rosenberg, TX who currently resides in Appleton, WI; Jim Ranger, a 38-year-old campus pastor and worship leader from Newport, AR who currently resides in Bakersfield, CA; and Carter Rubin, a 14-year-old student and singer from Shoreham, NY.

Desz represents Kelly Clarkson's team, John Holiday is a member of John Legend's team, Jim sings on behalf of Blake Shelton's team, and Carter is a member of Gwen Stefani's team.

The "Instant Save" winner who earned a spot in the finale was "Team Blake" member Ian Flanigan, a 30-year-old touring singer and songwriter from Saugerties, NY.

In addition to Ian, the other artists who performed live for the "Instant Save" on Tuesday night included "Team Kelly" member Cami Clune, a 20-year-old college student from Buffalo, NY.

"Team Legend" members Tamara Jade, a 30-year-old backup vocalist from Bowie, MD who currently resides in Washington, D.C., and Bailey Rae, an 18-year-old singer from Roberta, OK who currently resides in Durant, OK, also took the stage.

And the other performer who have his best shot at the "Instant Save" was "Team Gwen" member Ben Allen, a 42-year-old construction inspector and musician from Kingston, TN who currently resides in Estero, FL.

Ian impressed the majority of The Voice home viewers and received the most live votes with his rendition of "Anymore" by Travis Tritt.

Blake will therefore have two artists representing him in The Voice finale next week.
